Japhet's Group's story

Japhet is a 35-year-old father of two. He is a farmer who makes chairs, tables, and doors for the local market and his wife farms cassava, maize, cowpeas, and kale on their land. The biggest challenge he faces in his work is a lack of materials to make his products, and when he can find timber it's often very expensive. He is excited to join KOMAZA because he is impressed that they want to change the lives in his community and as a young father, "joining KOMAZA is like harvesting for the future of my children's lives." He hopes to use the income from his KOMAZA trees to educate his family, have timber for his woodworking business, and to someday build his dream house for his family.
