A loan of $4,600 helped a member to buy new upgraded music instruments and bamboo for installing her tent house.


Odisha Self Help Group's story

Narmada is engaged in the activity of decorating and making tent houses for events like marriages and during other Hindu rituals. She has tents, a few musical instruments and speakers with her which she used to install wherever the events are performed. She has 5 years of experience in this activity.

Narmada lives with her husband and two children. She is a responsible 30-year-old leader of the loan group named Odisha Self Help Group, and lives in a small village of Odisha, India. Odisha Self Help Group has ten members, all women, living in the same neighborhood but involved in various types of activities.

She, along with her group membersk has requested a loan amount of 250,000 Indian Rupees (INR) for purchasing new upgraded music instruments and bamboo for installing her tent house and to hire few more labourers for help.

She wants to save some money for her family's better future and for her children's education.
