A loan of $900 helped a member to buy fishing materials for her fishing business.

Horm's Group's story

Horm is 42 years old and married. She is a mother of four children, some of whom are still in school. To make a living, she and her husband have been farming, raising cows and supplementing their family’s income by fishing. Her family’s daily income is about 50,000 KHR per day to meet the family’s needs.

Horm’s group consists of three female members who live in the same village in the Ek Phnom district of Battambang province. She is a six-cycle client with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund. Now leading her group to apply for a loan, Horm, who is the leader, will use her portion to buy fishing material for her fishing business. She hopes to catch more fish to sell for a good price to improve her living conditions.
