PUCALLPA, Peru / Food Stall

A loan of $400 helped to buy rice, potatoes, vegetables, and other ingredients.

Dalia's story

Dalia, 28, is a single mother of two small children with whom she lives in her own house, the fruit of her effort and dedication.

Dalia makes a living selling food. At night she sets up her tables and her stove on the sidewalk of her house to sell all the dishes she has made during the day. A lot of people come to her stall wanting to buy her delicious food. She also makes the most of it to sell her refreshing beverages.

She has been doing this job for more than seven years, and here she learned that one always should be in good spirits and wear a friendly smile for the customers so they feel pleased at having come and they'll return later. She hopes to continue in her job and set up her own restaurant in the future to continue giving her customers excellent service.

This is her third loan with Kiva and she's very happy about the financial support she's getting because this way she'll always feel sure of getting ahead with her job. She pledges to continue making her payments punctually.

With the 1000 soles [PEN] requested she'll buy ingredients she needs to make her dishes, including rice, potatoes, and a variety of vegetables.
