A loan of $775 helped to buy yuca at wholesale.

Olga's story

Olga, 43, is the single mother of a 13-year-old child who is the reason for her effort and sacrifice, since his education and sustenance depend on her. She has her own house where she lives with her father and her son. Olga works selling yuca, but her main economic income lies in selling yuca flour, since it is a very consumed product in the region. Sometimes she receives orders from other cities, where she transports all her products in bags of 50 kilos. She has been doing this work for seven years. She does it alone, and since she has business experience, she always obtains good revenues. What she likes most about her job is that no one sets her schedule but herself, which allows her to organize her agenda as she deems necessary and share her free time with her father and son. She knows her customers like what she offers them, so she does her best to obtain a good product. In the future, she hopes to be able to expand her business selling other regional products that are in high demand among the people in her region. This is her fifth loan with Kiva, and she is very excited and thankful for the economic support they are offering her to continue her work plans. With the requested amount of 2000 Nuevos Soles, she will buy more yuca at wholesale to offer her customers and continue with her work.
