Roho Moja Group's story

Joseph is pictured on the right with his hand raised amongst his Roho Moja Group members. The 15 of them, 8 women and 7 men, are farmers in Teso District. Farming inputs will be delivered to him on credit consisting of the necessary materials to plant ½ acre of Sweet Potato, millet, and sorghum. The 2013 Long Rains season will be Joseph’s first season with One Acre Fund. He joined this year in order to rest assured of reliable input delivery and to grow enough food for the family.

Joseph thought his harvest last year was poor. He hopes that as a One Acre Fund farmer he can have an excellent harvest. He plans to use the money that he earns from his next harvest to send his children to school and repair his home. During the 2013 Long Rains season, each group member will receive ½ an acre of agricultural inputs on credit. Joseph’s group will receive 7.5 acres worth of inputs on credit.
