Martha's story

Martha is 36 years old. She is married and has three children. She lives with them in her own house, which is built out of noble material. Martha makes a living selling food in different places. She wakes up early so as to do start her daily chores. She cooks and takes her delicious stews to different places in the city where she has customers. She has customers thanks to the quality of the dishes she offers - the flavours are excellent and so Martha's customers are loyal. Martha has been doing this work for five years and does it alone because her children have to study. She enjoys her work as she has always enjoyed cooking. Every since she was a little girl she has loved the art of cooking so being able to make a living through it is great for her. Martha says it is very gratifying to see the grateful looks on customers' faces when they are enjoying her stews. Martha hopes to consolidate her work and progress in doing what she enjoys most. This is her fifth loan with Kiva and she is very grateful for this loan opportunity as it is just the financial support that she needs to continue moving forward. Martha promises that she will be punctual with her repyaments. On this occasion she is applying for 2000 Nuevo Soles to buy vegetables, potatoes and various meats so as to continue preparing her delicious dishes. In addition she will buy disposable plates and a kitchen cupboard to store all the utensils she uses in her work every day.
