Mwangaza Group's story

Nancy is a member of Mwangaza Group in Teso District. She is pictured with 16 One Acre Fund farmers, 9 women and 7 men. Nancy is standing on the right with her hand raised. She is receiving an input loan for ½ acre of Sweet Potato, millet, and sorghum cultivation. Nancy is a new One Acre Fund farmer and is excited for the 2013 Long Rains season. She joined One Acre Fund in order to grow enough food for the family and use increased profits to send her children to school.

Nancy described her harvest last year as good, but hopes she can have an even better one as a One Acre Fund farmer. She plans to use the money that she earns from her next harvest to send her children to school and save for the future. For the 2013 Long Rains season, Nancy’s group members will take input loans of ½ acre each. In total, this group will receive input loans for use on 8 acres of land.
