A loan of $925 helped a member to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of sweet potato, millet, and sorghum.

Atubokina Group's story

Rosemary is a member of Atubokina Group in Teso District. She is pictured with 24 One Acre Fund farmers,14 women and 10 men. Rosemary is standing on the right with her hand raised. She is receiving an input loan for ½ acre of sweet potato, millet, and sorghum cultivation. Rosemary first enrolled with One Acre Fund during the 2012 Long Rains and is now preparing to be a One Acre Fund farmer during the 2013 Long Rains season. Rosemary joined One Acre Fund in order to access the best input prices and grow enough food for the family.

Rosemary described her harvest as very good last year, but believes she can have an even better one this year. She plans to use the money that she earns from her next harvest to repair her home and save for the future. For the 2013 Long Rains season, Rosemary’s group members will take input loans of ½ acre each. In total, this group will receive input loans for use on 12 acres of land.
