A loan of $925 helped a member to pay for plowing fees for her farmland.

Ing's Group's story

Ing, originally from Kror Kor district of Pursat province, is a widow and mother of five children. Currently, only two children are still under her dependency -- one of them is still in school and the other is too young for schooling. To deal with daily cost of living, Ing grows rice as the main source of her family’s income. She supplements her income via dessert-selling and a pig-raising business. With 16 years' involvement in the current business, she is able to earn up to KHR 19,900 per day. Including this cycle, she is a third-time borrower with VisionFund Cambodia (Kiva’s partner). She has repaid back her past loans wisely to upgrade her living, especially so she can buy a decent motorbike to support her living, as well as her business. Now, Ing forms a group of two to apply for a new loan with VisionFund Cambodia. As a group leader, she will use her loan portion to pay for plowing fees for her farmland. She greatly hopes that she can gain more yield and gain more income to improve her lifestyle.
