Inyokha Group's story

Eunice is a member of the Inyokha Group in the Webuye District. She is pictured with 15 One Acre Fund farmers: 13 women and 2 men. Eunice is standing on the right with her hand raised. She is receiving an input loan for a ½ acre of sweet potato, millet, and sorghum cultivation. Eunice joined One Acre Fund during the Long Rains 2012 and is now enrolling in the Long Rains 2013 season. Eunice joined One Acre Fund so that she could gain access to hybrid seeds and fertilizer and the best input prices.

Prior to joining One Acre Fund, Eunice was only able to harvest 7 bags of maize per acre, but after joining One Acre Fund during the Long Rains 2012, she was able to harvest 18 bags per acre. She plans on using future profits from the harvest to send her children to school and repair her home. During the 2013 Long Rains season, each group member will receive ½ an acre of agricultural inputs on credit. Eunice’s group will receive 7.5 acres worth of inputs on credit.
