A loan of $350 helped to pay for fabric, cloth, thread and other materials needed in her business.

Ofelia's story

This is Ofelia, 50, a resident of Payatas, Philippines. She is the mother of one child and she manages their household with his help. At this time, she is working hard to continually provide income for their everyday expenses.

Ofelia operates a tailoring business. She mainly offers curtains, bed sheets, blankets and other home textiles. There is seasonal demand for clothing like uniforms all year round. She also does repairs and alterations. Her regular customers are her neighbors and the local community. She earns a minimum of Php500 in sales every day.

To help her continue the operation of her business, she is requesting a Php14, 000 loan. She will use this loan to buy more quantities of raw materials like fabric, thread and other items needed in her business.

Ofelia dreams of having more customers and hopes to give her child a good future. She meets up with her co-fellowship* members to share stories of her life and business every week and where she can also draw strength and inspiration from the fellowship and from the Word of God she studies.

* All CCT community partners / clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and pay Micro Finance loans.
