A loan of $200 helped to buy pigs.

Alberto's story

Alberto, 63, is a responsible man. He lives with his wife Benita and their four children, only one of whom lives with them in the house they bought 19 years ago.

"I have very good capital for my fields, where I have more profits. But my wife and I are starting to raise pigs, for which I haven't earned any capital," he says. Currently he has three medium-sized pigs, from which he hopes to earn a good income when they mature.

His job is hard because he has extensive cropland where he grows a variety of products. He says it's going very well for him in his business because he knows how to share between his profits and his working capital.

This is his first loan with Kiva and he pledges to make his payments punctually. He's grateful for this financial opportunity, which will help him improve the family economy.

Alberto will invest the money in buying four pigs to raise.
