A loan of $600 helped to buy ingredients to make candy.

Cruz's story

Cruz, 54, is married to Julián, who works and is the father of her two children. They live together comfortably in their own house built of quality materials.

Cruz works making and selling candy, which she does in her home with sufficient ingredients. She sells the candy at noon at the gate of the school closest to her house, and has acquired a lot of customers because of her good service and the variety of products. She has worked in this business for more than eight years and does it with the help of her children.

What she likes about her job is the income it generates because she can support her family's household expenses. She also likes her free time because she can spend it on other activities. She says there's a lot of demand for selling candy because it's a high-consumption product. This is why she plans to make her business grow.

This is her third loan with Kiva. She feels happy and is grateful for the opportunity to have a line of credit so she can make progress with her business. She promises to make her payments punctually.

Currently she'll request 1500 soles [PEN] to buy sugar, milk, and other ingredients to make candy. She's hoping to increase her stock of available merchandise to earn more income.
