A loan of $400 helped to buy shoes and sports clothing, and to expand her selection of articles in style.

Adriana Patricia's story

Adriana is 35 years old and lives in the southwest of the city, with her husband and their 3 children, ages from 12 to 18. Here she pursues commerce in clothing and shoes. Some 3 years ago, Adriana began her business with the goal of increasing household income, aided by her husband, who is an electrical technician. He provided the initial capital, with which the business has since been growing.

Adriana travels to another Colombian city and brings back articles she purchases in large volume from providers who offer her important discounts. This allows Adriana to offer products of good quality at just prices in her market.

Now, Adriana is applying for a Kiva loan, her 1st financing through Fundacion Mario Santo Domingo, to buy shoes and sports clothing, and expand her selection with articles in style. Her goal is to improve conditions in her home, working day to day to achieve savings that will advance her proposition.
