A loan of $650 helped to purchase a new computer and stationery items.

Jeny Isabel's story

45-year-old Jeny lives with her husband and her two children aged 12 and 16 years. Four years ago she started a business from her own house. She offers internet and call services in order to obtain an income and pay for her household expenses. She has gradually made her business grow. At first she sold cell phone minutes and then gradually added a computer, then another one, until she became sufficiently known in her neighborhood and got a clientele. Her customers currently demand the refinement of her services. She's currently requesting a Kiva loan, her fist loan with Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. With it she'll purchase a new computer and stationery items in order to complement her services and increase her profits. Her goal for the future is to expand her business premises and install an air conditioner, because the huge Caribbean sun increases the heat and her customers need to be in an optimized environment in order to remain loyal. Her biggest strength is her dedication to her work, because that's how she intends to continuously improve her family's well-being.
