A loan of $600 helped to remodel and expand her classroom.

Yuly Maritza's story

Yuly is 31 and lives with her husband and small 4-year-old daughter in a metropolitan area of Malambo. For ten years, with her maternal nature she worked in a small preschool run by her sister-in-law and gained a lot of experience. When she moved to Malambo, she observed that the children did not have the opportunity to participate in preschool, which is very important to children in the first years of life for learning and socialization.

From 8 am to 11 am she attends to the children, offering them a quality educational experience. She has become well-known in the area, and her classroom is not large enough to receive more children. This is her reason for seeking a loan through Kiva. She will use the funds to remodel and expand her space so that she can accept new children into her program. This will allow her to develop her program further and to have a space that is comfortable for the children who attend every day.
