Alusine's Group's story

Salone Microfinance Trust, who is a partner of Kiva.org based in Makeni, northern Sierra Leone is very pleased to present to you this group of teachers from Makiteh village, near Makeni city, in northern Sierra Leone. They have requested for a loan of 1,500,000 Sierra Leonean Leones (SLL) for each in order to meet their immediate financial challenges. At the end of each month, they can easily repay the loan using their monthly salaries.

Alusine is the featured leader of this team and he is a 45 year old native of Maboreh village. He is married to a trader and they have 4 children – 3 in primary school and 1 in secondary school. Alusine has been a school teacher for 37 years now. He has requested this loan in order to pay college fees for himself and to use the rest to buy house building materials.
