Mrs. Meas S., 30, stays at home cooking and caring for the entire family. Her husband, Chi Saroeun, 27, stationed at one of the big hotels in Phnom Penh, has been a motor-taxi driver since 2007. His clients are tourists who he takes to the main attractions in and around Phnom Penh. Chi must now spend over half of his earned revenue on gas and motor repairs, so he is requesting a loan of $800 from Kiva to help replace an old unreliable motorbike. A new motorbike will enable him to retain more of his earnings. (Chi is pictured because Mrs. Meas S. was not available.)
