A loan of $475 helped a member to buy fertilizer and seeds for her farmland.

Heang's Group's story

Heang, aged 35, is living in a rural village of the Thmor Koul district. She has seven children, three of whom are dependents and still in school. She and her husband are rice farmers in the area to make a living. She has been in this business for 10 years. Together, they can earn about 35,000 KHR (Cambodian riels) per day from the current business. This is a microloan for Heang’s group of two members who have been with VisionFund for five loan cycles. The past two loans that Heang completely repaid have helped her relieve financial burdens and improved her livelihood. Now requesting a loan, Heang, who is the leader, will use her portion to buy fertilizer and seeds for her farmland. She hopes this loan will enable her to increase her paddy rice business to make a better living and keep her children in school.
