Susanna's story

Susanna has been engaged in clothes trading since 1996. She does this activity in a rented stall, in a market in Sevan. The merchandise she buys from Yerevan Wholesale Market, and then she transports them to Sevan for reselling. Her son helps her in this occupation. With the profit that she earns from her trading business, Susanna meets her family's needs.

Susanna is 61 years old and lives with her son in Sevan city. She has had a very hard life. She has a long work experience. She graduated from the Medical college of the Red Cross, and for many years she used to work as a nurse, in Sevan hospitals. Susanna is a widow, and her husband has died early. The salary of nurses was so low that, in order to support their son, Susanna launched her own clothes trading business. She has worked day and night, to provide a sufficient family income. She is very happy now, because she brought up her son alone, and he is a good person.

Susanna asks from Kiva lenders to borrow 1,000,000 Armenian Dram (AMD), to buy spring-summer season clothes from Yerevan wholesale markets. She will resell the clothes in her market stall in Sevan city.
