A loan of $4,250 helped to re-open store and buy inventory to restock shelves after loss from Hurricane Sandy.

Luis's story

Help Luis recover from Hurricane Sandy! Luis emigrated to the U.S. from Puebla, Mexico over 22 years ago. He worked as a gardener in New York City until 2011 when he decided to invest all of his savings to open a general discount store in Coney Island. Luis’ business was thriving and provided Luis enough to support his wife, three children and his mother, who still lives in Mexico. Then Hurricane Sandy struck New York City. Luis’ store has been closed ever since. Both the store front and Luis’ entire inventory were completely ruined. While the landlord is covering the costs of the building repairs, Luis needs a loan to repurchase his lost merchandise so that he can once again open his store.
