A loan of $775 helped to buy organic fertilizer and pea seeds.

Gabino's story

Gabino, 54, is single and lives with his mother, whom he affectionately cares for. He is also educating his younger brother. They live in their own home, built out of rustic materials, located in an agricultural zone. Gabino has worked in agriculture since he was a child. He gained a lot of experience because of this, which is reflected in his good production. He grows peas, corn, and potatoes, but the peas bring the greatest satisfaction. He plants on land that he rents from others in the area. For this reason, his production is large. "I've worked this way for years, so I have to hire trucks to take my harvest to market," he says. He has the advantage of being known to the buyers who take the crops to Lima. He likes his work and he plans to continue working the land for a long time. This is his eighth loan with Kiva. He takes care to be on time with his monthly payments. With the 2,000 soles he is applying for, he will be able to get organic fertilizer and pea seeds to start his planting.
