A loan of $600 helped to buy urea, liquid plant plague killer, and insecticides for his new cacao plantings.

Luis Renelmo's story

Luis is 62 years old and lives in a common-law marriage. He and his wife have 5 children. They reside in the City of Ventanas in Los Rios Province.

His rural communal bank, called “25th of February,” in Recinto el Guabito, Zapatol Parish, is located in Ventanas Canton. It is dedicated to promoting agricultural efforts.

Luis is in the cacao and general agriculture business. He sows corn and cacao, plus he raises farm animals, including chickens. Luis is requesting a loan to buy urea, liquid plague killer, and insecticides.

With the aid of this loan, he will be able to purchase the necessities for planting more cacao. He buys what he needs every 15 days in Ventanas.

Luis' dream is to work as hard as he can for the well-being of his family. The challenges he confronts require him to work a great deal to get ahead. In his free time, he likes to participate in the customs of his community, including Carnaval.
