Stepan's story

Stepan is 30 years old and lives with his father, wife and son in Vanadzor. Up until a few years ago he worked as a laborer. After his marriage he couldn't provide his new-created family with their basic needs on his salary. He did his best to find a solution for this difficult situation. He started to breed animals in barn near his house. He breeds cows, sheep and horses. In winter his animals stay in the barn and in the warm season the roam the pasture, where they stay until November. Meat and dairy products, which come from his animals, he sells to his townsman's in Vanadzor. He has many customers and the profit from his activity allows him to meet his family’s needs. So Stepan is requesting a loan from Kiva to buy four cows. This will allow him to enlarge the quantity of dairy products which Stepan can produce on his farm. By doing this Stepan can improve his family's living conditions.
