Zawadi's Group's story

Zawadi is a 27-year-old mother of three children and a dryland farmer. Her husband is a farmer too and they grow maize, cowpeas and cassava. Their agricultural business faces the challenge of having pests infest the crops, which results in a low harvest. Zawadi is joining the KOMAZA microforestry program because, in her words, "I loved what KOMAZA is doing and I wanted to be part of it." With the profits from her tree farm, Zawadi plans to educate her children, buy goats, and build a house.
