A loan of $800 helped to purchase spare parts for resale.

Alou's story

Alou is 37 years old, married and the father of six children. He lives in a polygamous family with his two wives, his children and his parents in Ouelessebougou. He has been running a business buying and selling spare parts for the past five years. He is valued and very sought after in Ouelessebougou and the surrounding area.

In order to satisfy the demand of his ever-increasing customer base, Alou decided to join the loan program of Soro Yiriwaso. He is currently on his fourth loan cycle, having fully repaid his three prior loans.

Alou plans to use this loan to buy a large stock of spare parts from the wholesalers in Bamako. He sells his merchandise at the market in Ouelessebougou to a customer base of chauffeurs and mechanics. Alou hopes to earn an average monthly income of 100,000 FCFA, which he will use to meet his family's expenses and to reinvest in his business.
