A loan of $1,500 helped a member to pay for eucalyptus seedlings, fertilizer, training and plantation maintenance support.

Kadzo's Group's story

Kadzo is a 48-year-old dryland farmer and mother of eight children. Her husband is a farmer, too, and they grow maize, cowpeas and green peas. Their agricultural business suffers from pest infestations, and therefore, low harvest yields. Kadzo is joining the KOMAZA microforestry program because, as she says, "The trees KOMAZA is planting are a good investment." With the profits from her tree farm, Kadzo plans to educate her children and build a home with electricity for her family.
