A loan of $400 helped to pay the rent of the land where she cultivates corn and beans, and to buy seeds, fertilizer and herbicides.

Santos Carolina's story

Santos is a 29-year old woman who lives with her partner and has three children. Together with her life partner, she's been working in agriculture for 15 years. She wakes up very early to prepare breakfast, dress one of her children for school and take the other two to her mother's house. She comes back to make lunch and shares the afternoon with the kids helping them with homework. Her older child has a disability.

She's requesting a loan to Fundación Campo to pay the rent of the land where she cultivates corn and beans, and to buy seeds, fertilizer and herbicides. This way she can ensure some space to cultivate and obtain corn and beans for her family. Her dream is for her oldest child to graduate from university so that he can have better work conditions that she does. She also would like to build a house made of brick (her current one is made of layers and serrated ceiling).
