A loan of $400 helped to buy rice, sugar, milk, and other groceries.

Julia's story

Julia, 63, is married to Máximo, a merchant and the father of her children, who are already adults and independent. They live together comfortably in their own house.

Julia's job is selling groceries, bookstore items, medicine, and other products. She opened a small store in her house, where she tends to the needs of her neighbors, who are her main customers. She started in this business more than eight years ago and managed to become very well known.

Before opening her business she had financial problems because food prices are constantly going up and her husband's income wasn't enough to cover all their expenses, so she wanted to help him by generating her own income.

This is her fourth loan with Kiva. She hopes to have your financial support to achieve her work goals, and she pledges to make her payments punctually.

Currently she's going to request 1000 nuevos soles [PEN] to buy a variety of groceries, including rice, sugar, and oil.
