A loan of $300 helped to buy local goods for resale (palm oil, fish..).

Rokhaya's story

Rokhaya lives in Senegal. She is divorced and is involved in a commercial activity which allows her to take part in the management of the day-to-day expenses. For over ten years now, she has been selling local products such as palm oil, dried and smoked fish etc. She works from 8AM until 6PM.

Rokhaya is a client of one of the branches of the UIMCEC and she has already taken a loan from this institution. She is requesting a new loan of 150,000 CFA francs which will be used to buy local products for resale, as part of her commercial activity.

Thanks to this loan, Rokhaya will be able to meet her customers' increasing demand, and her activity will become more profitable. Consequently, this loan will also help her to expand her business, to diversify the products that she sells (she would like to start selling potatoes and onions), to increase the number of her employees, to cover her children's school fees and improve her family's diet.

In the future, she would like to buy a house for her children. She would also like to be able to send them abroad for their studies.
