A loan of $125 helped a member to buy pig feed.

Chuon's Group's story

Chuon, age 57 and a widow, is a local farmer who has rice crops and raises four pigs as the main source of her income. The business that she has been with for 30 years returns her about 26,700 KHR (Cambodian riels) per day.

This is the first microloan of her group, which is comprised of two female members. Both of them are seeking the same loan amount, 200,000 KHR each. As the group leader, she will use her loan portion to buy pig feed. She highly hopes that she can raise her pigs in good health conditions and sell them for a high price so she can expand this business in a bigger scale by purchasing more pigs for raising and by making a big pigpen.
