Noemi Argentina's story

The communal bank Junín meets every two weeks in the Junín canton. This area is known for its friendly and hard-working people and because the best spirits in the province and in Ecuador are distilled there.

In this place lives Señora Noemi. She is 44 years old. She is separated from her husband, but from this relationship she had 6 children who are already adults. Four of them still live in her house; three of them study at the university.

Doña Noemi works in the local church, where she earns a monthly salary, but in addition to this she has a business. In her house she has a little distributorship for chemical products such as detergents, bleach, and disinfectants, among other products. Her children help her with this business, since she has to comply with working hours at the church. This business is very good, since there are few places that offer these products. She has had this business for three years, and it is going very well for her. With this she can raise her children, who have many expenses for their studies.

She is going to use this loan to buy bleach, detergents, disinfectants and other chemical products. She has been in the communal bank for two years, and she likes it because of the ease of obtaining loans.

Her dream is to see her children finish their studies.
