A loan of $975 helped to buy underwear and natural products.

Neris Ramona's story

The "Junín" communal bank meets every fortnight in the Junín district. This is a place known for its friendly and hard-working people and for having the best liquor in the province, and, indeed, in Ecuador.

It is here that 60-year-old Neris lives. A few years ago her dear husband died and she became a widow. However, she does have six children from this relationship, all of whom are now adults. The youngest is twenty and is studying at university.

Neris has a business so that her family is not in need of anything. Neris sells natural products from the "Garden" brand and all types of underwear. She works every day, mainly in the morning as it is easier to do her runs then. She sells door-to-door and people leave orders with her. Customers pay in installments, which Neris collects on a weekly basis. She has had this business for eight years now and it is going well for her as she has a good customer base. Thanks to this work, Neris doesn't want for anything.

Neris will use this loan to buy underwear and natural products, as she already has various orders. She has been with the communal bank for nine years and she likes it because it was with one of the loans that she started this business that allows her to earn a living.

Her dream is for her daughter to finish her studies.
