A loan of $575 helped to buy staple ingredients.

Ana Yamile's story

"Dreams are the engine of existence." With this phrase, Ana Yamile, 33-years-old, tells the story of how she came to open her restaurant. She relates that she has faced many obstacles while trying to move forward. Her husband abandoned her and she was left with all the household expenses as she tried to pay for her young children's education.

Because of her financial situation, Ana began working as an operator with the idea of saving enough money to open her own business that would allow her to spend more time with her children. Thanks to her hard work and a program in Medellín that supports single mothers in business ventures, Ana was able to open her small restaurant a year ago.

Ana is requesting a loan in order to buy staple ingredients so that she can expand her menu and provide better service to her customers. Her greatest dream is to be able to provide her family with a better quality of life and ensure that her children receive a good education.
