Ruth's story

Ruth lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married with four children, and all of her children go to school. She has no additional family members. She sells cow ghee at the market. She has been in this business for the last six years. She works six days a week. She has requested a loan of 400,000 Ugandan Shillings from MCDT – SACCO to buy tins of cow ghee. Her major business challenges are transportation and seasonality. Her goals are to become a wholesaler of cow ghee and also start selling fruits and vegetables. She lives in her own house, and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees and food.
