A loan of $225 helped to obtain more cash to process mobile phone credit sales and bill payment transactions.

Hakim's story

In the photo, Hakim stands on the left, with his daughter, his wife, and Ruma's field officer. Hakim runs a small stall where he sells snacks, drinks and mobile phone airtime credits. Currently, he has three persons living in his house including his one-year-old daughter, Siti Amelia. He joined Ruma four months ago because he wanted to expand to other business opportunities and still feels really excited to expand his business by selling mobile phone airtime credits and servicing bill payments for the customers. For the last three months, he has around $50/day sales on average (just mobile phone airtime credit sales). As the business continues, he needs more working capital in order to be able to do transaction on weekends.
