A loan of $1,275 helped to purchase a bull and prepare for spring field work.

Sulaika's story

Sulaika is 46 years old, married, and has five children. She has raised animals for the past 18 years, a business she started with 20,000 som (KGS). Thanks to her tireless work Sulaika today owns a cow, a calf, 13 head of sheep, and a 2.1 hectare (5 acre) parcel of land where she grows potatoes, beans, and sainfoin. Her monthly income is now 15,000 som. To further develop her business, Sulaika turned to Bai-Tushum and Partners for a 60,000 som (KGS) loan to buy a bull calf and prepare for spring field work. This will allow her to increase milk production. Sulaika plans to invest revenue from use of the loan into her children's education.
