A loan of $775 helped a member to buy fertilizer and rice seeds for her farmland.

Kert's Group's story

Kert, aged 38, lives in a rural village of the Moung Russey district. She has three dependent children, two of whom are in school. She is a rice farmer, and her husband is a fisherman in the area to make a living. She has been in this business for ten years. The current business earns her about 15,000 KHR per day to meet the family’s needs. This is a microloan for Kert with Kiva partner, VisionFund. She is a sixth-cycle client with VisionFund. The past loans that she completely repaid have helped her relieve her financial burden and improve her livelihood. Now requesting a loan, Kert, who is the leader, will use her portion to buy fertilizer and rice seeds for her farmland and will use a portion of it to spend on labor fees in plowing the field. She hopes this loan will enable her to increase her income so as to make a better living.
