La Propuesta (Cuenca) Group's story

The communal bank La Propuesta is made up of 7 determined women that work in different activities that allow them to improve their economic stability. They are cheerful, charismatic women who still keep their culture and traditions alive. They live around the Cumbe parish in Cuenca. This place is surrounded by mountains of unparalleled beauty. Its people dedicate themselves to work in the fields such as raising animals or agriculture and many work in the city practicing different economic activities.

One of the members of this group is Liliana. She is 25 years old, married and has conceived a child who is 2 years old. Her husband is a professional and works in an industrial mechanic workshop. The house that they live in is their own.

Liliana devotes herself to the household chores and to the care of her child but in order to help her husband cover the household expenses she raises and sells pigs, guinea pigs and chickens. She also works in agriculture and what she harvests is for household consumption and also for sale in the community.

She is going to invest her loan in the purchase of a small stove in order to begin with the business of selling fast food.

Her goal is to grow in this business that she is starting.
