A loan of $200 helped to buy general store items.

Eloisa's story

Eloisa, 60, is married to Juan who is employed and the father of her two children. She lives with her family in their own home. Eloisa makes a living selling general store groceries. For this reason, she has a small store in her home which she has been working in for seven years, a period of time that served to make her known among her neighbors and gain a good clientele.

She likes her work since she can be at home and attend to her children. She also likes the income that it generates, with which she can support her husband with home expenses. Eloisa is planning to increase the stock of her products in order to draw in more purchases from her clients.

This is her third loan from Kiva and she feels happy with the opportunity offered to her to increase her working capital. With the amount requested of 500 new Peruvian soles, she will buy a great variety of groceries such as preserves. powdered milk, oil, rice, and more, searching for the lowest prices for buying in large volume.
