Nayci's story

Nayci is 21 years old and is married to Jhon with whom she has a 4 year old daughter. She currently lives in a home made of solid materials, which she inherited from her parents. Since she was very young she was taught by her parents of the various agricultural tasks involved in producing organic cacao. For this reason when she became of age she received a parcel of land to make a living as a farmer and receive earnings for her family. She has been working in the fields for four years and has been able to continue as a good producer of organic cacao and at time receives the help of workers from the area. With this opportunity she finds herself in the middle of the preparation process. She hopes to have the capital to continue with the second weeding process that is essential to have a quality harvest in order to get good prices from the buyers. Her long term goal is to finish building the second floor of her home and later on, open up a grocery store. For this opportunity, she needs 1,500 nuevos soles to pay the day laborers and proceed with the second weeding process to optimize her final production.
