A loan of $1,500 helped to invest in working capital and to stock up her business buying and selling various clothes, such as trousers, shorts, blouses, sports shirts, underwear, bedclothes and towels.

Maria Mercedes's story

María Mercedes is 54 years old. She is married, has a 16 year old son and is originally from Managua, in the central part of the region. María is a hard-working, responsible and respectable person. Unfortunately she could not study at university due to a lack of money. Every day she fights to provide her son with a better future and to give him better living conditions. Thanks to her desire to move forward in life and her will to overcome problems, María has been making a living selling various items of clothing at the local market for 14 years. This work consists of selling clothes such as trousers, shorts, blouses, sports shirts, underwear, bedclothes and towels. She works around ten hours a day and she really enjoys it as it has been a way of supporting the family. The aim for this loan is to invest it in working capital and to stock up her business of buying and selling various clothes. The loan will hopefully soon result in a higher income. María is grateful for the help that Kive investors provide to people with few resources and to poor countries such as Nicaragua. The help allows people to have a decent job.
