Mariam is from Msambweni, where she has a small general store and sells used clothing. She tells us that thanks to the variety that she always sells, things are going well; she has developed a good customer base.
She is a hardworking woman; she sacrifices every day by struggling to get ahead so that she can have a better future. She has four children who are in primary school and high school. Mariam tells us that the reason she works tirelessly is for her children.
She is requesting a loan to buy sugar, rice, noodles, breads, beans, and more staples for her store. She is very appreciative for the help from Kiva and Yehu Microfinance for this growth opportunity for herself and her family.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
