Amanda's story

Amanda 58, is a woman with a great capacity for work. She's a widow and has only one reason for living, her son Maycol, 18. She has a house made of quality materials where she shares her family experiences.

Initially she sold food in the wholesale market in her town, which enabled her to start building her house. As time went by she managed to set up the first floor of her house and later she opened her grocery store. She has had the business for 10 years, and she has managed to strengthen it and turn it into a good means of support for her family.

Thanks to the sale of necessity items such as rice, sugar, and other grains, she has managed to carry out her business and become a well-known person in her area. Thanks to a vending machine that she acquired recently, she supplements her business with the sale of soft drinks made of regional fruit such as mangos and oranges.

Not long ago she had some health problems, which obliged her to give up her business for a short period of time. Currently she needs the help of her financial institution to stock her store again and work with her characteristic motivation.

Amanda's long-term goal is to build another floor on her house, hoping to improve her family's quality of life.

Currently she needs 1,000 nuevos soles [PEN] to buy merchandise for her business such as rice, sugar, canned goods, and grains.
