A loan of $725 helped a member to buy fertilizer for her farmland.

Thet's Group's story

Originally from a rural village of the Ponhea Krek district of Kampong Cham province, Thet is a 44-year-old married mother of five children, three of whom are dependent on her and still in school. Cassava planting and rice farming have been the main sources of her family’s income for 24 years. To supplement her income, Thet also sells grocery items in the village. She earns about 32,000 KHR per day to meet her family’s needs, and she manages to save about 10,000 KHR each day for future needs.

This is Thet's first microloan with VisionFund. She is leading her group of three to ask for a loan. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to buy fertilizer for her farmland and use a portion of it to buy more grocery items for selling. She hopes this loan will enable her to make more income to improve her standard of living and keep her children in school.
