Alberto's story

Alberto is 41 years old. He is married to Vilma, who is 41. Together they have three children, Jenifer, Cristian and Evelyn, whom they give the results of all their hard work.

He has a house made out of brick where he lives with his family. Alberto grows organic cacao. He starting out as a worker but thanks to his hard work was able to save up and with Vilma acquired a land parcel to use for growing the most financially viable product in the area.

That is why for 10 years he has been working with the help of some laborers who help him with the different tasks that are difficult and require a group efforts. Nonetheless, his land is somewhat far from the city and this makes it difficult to transport the cacao beans that he harvests. Right now, he is in the middle of a growing campaign because he can't neglect the constant maintenance of his land. That is why he wants to have working capital and he has turned to his financial institution. Alberto's long term goal is to buy a vehicle to transport his products at a lower cost. At this time, he needs to have 500 nuevos soles to pay for workers to prune the plants and finish the second weeding.
