A loan of $625 helped to buy soft drinks and ice cream.

Isabel's story

Isabel, 53, is married to Marden, the father of her four children. The three oldest are already independent, which is why she lives with her husband and her last daughter in a house of solid materials that they built with a lot of effort.

Isabel's job is selling a well-known brand of ice cream and various flavors and brands of carbonated beverages. She has a refrigerator installed in her home that she bought with her own income. She says she has a lot of demand in the summer, when she serves her customers pleasantly.

She likes her work because she gets good income with which she's able to pay for the household expenses and give her youngest daughter an education, just as she did with her older children. Her job makes her feel like a productive person. She wants to continue with her work, trying to make it grow and have more profits.

This is her fourth loan with Kiva. She's happy about the financial support she has been receiving, so she pledges to continue making her payments punctually.

With the requested amount of 1600 nuevos soles [PEN] she'll buy more products for her business, such as brand ice cream and soda.
