A loan of $1,175 helped to buy machinery, locks and work tools.

Jairo Alberto's story

Jairo is 56 years old and lives in the city of Barranquilla. He has a shop there, where he sells tools, locks, does locksmith work and changes locks. From there he also sells chickens and giblets. His sales experience dates from 33 years ago when he was laid off by a company and decided to invest his severance in a business similar to what he knew before.

Today he is very organized and has the ability to generate income independently. That is why he also concentrates on food, especially chicken and giblets. In his locksmith shop he does installations and lock-opening, makes keys, and sells locks and key-rings, etc. From 8:00 am in the morning to 10:00 pm in the evening he sells for cash, and makes his purchases in the same way.

His main customers are his neighbors, passersby, and referrals, who come to see him to purchase his products or services. Now he is applying for a credikiva loan, his second from the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, through which he will buy machinery, locks and work tools.
