A loan of $300 helped to buy a grinder and a disk for the grinder.

Karla Ivania's story

Karla, 38, was born in Pueblo Nuevo in Esteli. She is married, the mother of two children ages 8 and 9, and a merchant. She has operated a grinding service for a year. Because she lacked money, she only finished the second year of high school. At 37, she started this business with her savings. She bought her first grinder, and though it was small, she managed to get ahead on the income it generated. Her brother also sends her money, and she expects her business to grow.

Karla is applying for a loan to buy another grinder and disk. She thinks the loan will let her buy all the equipment she needs so that she can better service her customers.
